Regulation D

What is Regulation D?
Federal Regulation D places a monthly limit on the number of transfers you may make from your Savings Accounts or Money Market Accounts (MMAs) without your physical presence being required. Transfers affected by this regulation therefore include:
  • Transfers made using Online Banking
  • Transfers made using Telephone Banking
  • Overdraft transfers
  • Transfers made by a Customer Service Representative on your behalf
  • Pre-authorized, automatic, scheduled or recurring transfers (see below)
You are allowed six such transfers per month, per account.

What transactions are not affected by Regulation D?

  • ATM transactions
  • Transactions made to Frontier Bank's loans
  • Transactions done in person at one of our banking centers
  • Transactions sent by mail or by night drop

What are my options once an account has reached its Regulation D limit?
Transactions may be completed by mail, ATM, or in person at one of our banking centers.

What are my options if I require more transactions than allowed per month?
If your transfer activity exceeds the allowed monthly transactions, we recommend you convert to a checking account, which has no Reg. D transaction limits. The bank may close non compliant accounts or convert them to checking accounts that are not subject to Reg. D.
